T-Mobile’s 4G LTE device train to start March 27th with Galaxy S3 in tow?

33

Our friends at TmoNews have received new evidence suggesting T-Mobile would be bringing its first LTE devices in less than two months. Specifically, an LTE-enabled mobile hotspot device and T-Mobile’s LTE-equipped Samsung Galaxy S3 are said to be coming starting March 27th (though the latter could launch a week after that).

T-Mobile has already launched LTE in limited capacity over in Las Vegas, and testing is said to be underway in Kansas. We’re sure other markets are being tested right now, but without any devices to take advantage of the network it’s not that big of a concern for many of you yet. The timing sounds just right, though, as T-Mobile looks to begin an aggressive rollout that should cover much of its current 3G network with LTE by the end of this year.

It sounds like T-Mobile could also be shipping prepaid and postpaid versions of the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit on March 27th, though whether or not these two devices will have LTE is unclear. We’d doubt it for the time being, but they’re worthy to note anyway. The Blackberry Z10 rounds out the March 27th festivities for T-Mobile.

The carrier is looking to end that particular month with a bang, but keep in mind that this is only a rumor, and even if these dates are swirling around the offices of Magenta they’re subject to change at any time. We hope that’s not the case, obviously, unless any of these devices happen to launch sooner than we expect.

  1. No update for HTC one S. This is bullshit.

    1. they never promised you anything. You should never buy a phone hoping to get updates or anything. You buy a phone for what it does at the time of purchase. Yes it is nice to get updates but never expect it.

      1. Lol what? Every official partner of Android commits to updates for at least 18 months. Both HTC and Tmobile have each promised an update for this phone specifically. Hop off your high horse and join us in reality.

        1. Says who. Hop off your horses crotch and meet up with reality. Many android partners do whatever they want, including dropping support for many of their products 6 months after release.

          1. Just because they “do whatever they want” doesn’t make it right. And by sitting back and accepting that kind of treatment, especially considering what we pay them, only makes their position stronger. In other words, it is not at all unrealistic to expect them to provide support beyond 6 months. If they can’t or won’t do that, then they should.not be supported by us.

      2. Please shush.

      3. Actually they do promise you. But whatever….I’d ROM it

    2. i don’t think any version of the htc one s has LTE built-in, not even the international version. with that said, i’m still waiting for the goddamn JB update that they were supposedly testing since end of Dec 2012.

  2. Will T-Mobile be having its annual Valentine’s day sale this year? Anyone know what deals T-Mobile will be offering?

  3. who cares ab lte

    42 is just fine

    1. Says the poor lil tfumble subscriber. Poor fella

      1. Apparently you’ve not used T-Mobile’s HSPA+42 network where in my area is a lot of times is FASTER than Verizon and Att’s current LTE, I get 20 to 29Mbps regularly. Oh how the trolls love to make assumptions and “try” to go for the easy “ignorant” kill in their eyes. Magenta’s LTE Advanced is going to be incredible, but just knowing that we have HSPA+42 as a fallback and not cruddy old EVDO or Att’s horrible HSPA just makes me smile. : )

        1. I have a question for you smart guy. Why are the upload speeds so pathetic?
Oh and why not show some of those? From what I see the average is more around 11 to 12k & your uploads don’t break 2k. Just curious as I always see you T-Mobile guys spouting off about your hspa+OMG 42!

          1. Upload? Who uploads anything when not on wifi? No one is “spouting off OMG.” THEY ARE JUST LAUGHING AT THE STUPIDITY OF LTE SNOBS.

          2. What does that mean LTE snobs? Are you just jealous?
Can you not afford the better faster LTE? Is your thought process that you feel its a rip off because of price? It must be something but all I ever see is spouting off about hspa+42 like its god. But we know it is not as good. Maybe very good but not as.

          3. You sound like an iCultist. People like you are the reason I’m somewhat ashamed to own an iMac. Thanks for proving me right about the snob part. By the way, I ow my own business, own a 4 level home, drive a Lexus GS I paid for from my checking account, and I have bought every Nexus Google has offered (except the Nexus S) because I don’t believe in financing phones and can afford to pay full price. NONE of that matters, and I’m not so insecure as to look down on people who don’t have the same as I do. Gadget bigotry is bad enough, but carrier snobbery? Please. Can it get any worse? Next you’ll be bragging about how the “profit margins” of your carrier are higher than mine in order to fill the gaping hole in your soul.

          4. What? Dude I asked …never mind
            Buddy you’re a wack-job. Wow!

          5. carrier snobbery is pathetic. I have friends who routinely get laughed at for using metro and virgin. All of us post paid ppl arent laughing at the end of the month thats for sure.

          6. my Upload speeds often times are up to 4Mbps “Smart guy”. Obviously HSPA+ has bandwidth limits and must cap its Upload, anybody knows that. What you see is not what I see, obviously different locations vary but in my area T-Mobile has incredible back-haul. thanks for trying tho ; )

        2. dude T-Mobile is the best carrier I’ve ever had. I went to sprint because of the unlimited but wow the speeds are horrible and I get dropped called like no tomorrow. i can be standing outside and walk two feet in any directions and lose all service. same goes for Verizon apparently CDMA and LTE networks only work well while standing still. I never had these issues while on T-Mobile. when I drive my car I cant keep a call because I lose service like every few hundred feet I travel. with T-Mobile I had constant connection. never a dropped call on T-Mobile and the speeds were incredible I loved it.

    2. If they had anything other than standard HSPA in my area maybe I’d know.

LTE allows for VoLTE which will improve voice quality across all carriers in the future though, and LTE is what basically every carrier in the world is aiming for over the next 5 years or so, and LTE-Advanced is a true 4G standard that goes up to 1Gbps, I doubt HSPA will be able to keep evolving properly as it has been around for quite a while.

  4. Why the hell would you buy a galaxy s3 lte with the s4 around the corner. Oh, I got it to get screwed like the first galaxy note. PASS!!!!

    1. My Epic 4G Touch is running quite lovely. I wouldn’t mind spending less on the Galaxy S3 for an update. Of course, being the type of person I am, I am completely lying and would love a chance to get the best of the best.

  5. Ooo!! How lovely. This means the next Nexus should have LTE since ALL carriers will have LTE by this time. How nice of Google to wait on Tmobile. =.P

    1. I hope so….. the nexus 4 debacle is just horrid

      1. My Nexus 4 with LTE band 4 disagrees with you both.

  6. just as Juan explained I am shocked that some one can get paid $7549 in four weeks on the internet. did you look at this web link wiki15.COM

  7. Youve left out an important fact… T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note II is already ready for LTE.

  8. My buddies on verizon leave LTE off cause they’re not allowed to use data. I use 12GB+ each month of T-Mobile 4G goodness averaging 15mbps! Haters gonna hate must suck to pay out the behind and not be able to use ur dataz … can u hear me meow? ;)

  9. Sounds good, but I wish T-Mobile would also upgrade their 2G areas. With T-Mobile, I can’t use data once I leave the city, and that’s really not acceptable in 2013. If I want usable data out at the family farm, or in a state park, or on a rural highway, Verizon (and maybe AT&T, if they’ve “gotten better,” as everybody says) really is my only viable choice.

Get ‘er done, T-Mobile, and by “done,” I mean your whole network, not just cities and metro areas. Please!
