By It looks like ZTE could be making a very bold bet on its future with a new flagship smartphone headed for Sprint’s store shelves. Where ZTE would normally allow carriers and OEMs to take their phones and stamp their own branding on them, the device pictured below — dubbed the ZTE Quantum — will be pushed full force ahead and marketed as a premium option from the Chinese OEM.
The ZTE Quantum is said to be equipped with a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset, 1Gb of RAM, a 5-inch 720p display, a 13 megapixel camera, NFC, 4G LTE and more. It’s a bit mid-range in this day and age, but considering what we are used to seeing out of ZTE’s lineup here in the States this one stands out a bit.
It’ll launch with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and light sprinkles of ZTE’s own customization on top. Oh, and that aforementioned camera? It is the weirdest thing we’ve seen on a smartphone since the grotesque hinge of Sprint’s Kyocera Echo. I guess you can’t blame the OEM for trying to differentiate by design when there’s little you can do to make a smartphone look unique these days.
There’s no telling when, exactly, we’ll see this thing up for sale, but its recent DLNA and WiFi certification approvals lead us to believe that we’re probably going to see this at some point before the first half of the year is up.

I’m thinking they have to unless they make a wider phone, which I’m not complaining about bc that’s room for more battery
u guys thinking the phone is messed up, i disagree. The hole looks like a mic for video, the lens looks like it was just wiped and some cloth fibers are stuck to it, I don’t think it’s cracked, could be scratches though. And the logo Just looks crooked bc the top right is tilted toward the camera and the bottom left is angled away.
Totally agree w/the dirty lens statement.However,it appears the ZTE logo is tilted opposite of the angle you described,meaning it’d look even MORE crooked if the phone were perfectly aligned in the photo.
Just my humble opinion.Either way,not enough to pass judgement on by one pic alone,the rest of the specs scream MEH……..
