Say hello to your new Facebook Home. The first phone to ship with the social network’s custom Android launcher is now available for purchase as an AT&T exclusive. The HTC First is priced at $99 and available in four color, including black, red, white, and pale blue.
For the price you get a handset powered by a dual-core Qualcomm processor, a 4.3-inch 720p display, and 5MP camera. And, shh, don’t tell anyone, but if you disable Facebook Home it’s stock Android Jelly Bean below.
If you’re still on the fence about whether or not the First with Facebook Home is for you, our full review will be coming shortly. For now, jump into the conversation over at AndroidForums to see what the buzz is on the new release.
[AT&T]
If it doesn’t get updates in a timely fashion, being stock Jellybean, what’s HTC’s excuse. I miss when they were the best / My Droid Incredible Days.
Updates will still have to lag somewhat… Facebook Home will have to run on whatever they update to.
That doesn’t mean it can’t be timely, just that they’ll be waiting on Facebook Home instead of Sense.
Why does this get to be available and shipped before the One? =(

:p
I see what you did there ;)
Butter ur so sexy
We need to set up a Pay Pal account so we can all donate to Chris Chavez’s “Buy a new phone that won’t break, thus causing him to cry” fund. We can buy him this one.
wow. quit being such a douche.
I bet we’d get a lot more donations for the fund to get rid of trolls like you, posting such brave remarks, hiding behind the anonymity of the internet, eh?
So anyone that has a different perspective than you is a troll.
Good luck finding a girlfriend.
That’s an awesome idea… But Chavez will still end up crying because of the kindness. He’s pretty soft. I heard when his Nexus shattered he leaned on his friends shoulder for comfort
Who cares?
Obviously, you do; you posted here. I doubt seriously that you post “Who cares?” on EVERY story that appears in which you truly don’t care.
the general reaction to facebook phone news on the blogs is pretty negative. not many people are interested in hearing any more about it.
Well, it is a $99 phone with a 720p display, 16gb storage, it’s processor is on par with the S3 and it ships with vanilla android 4.1.2. That’s actually not terrible. And it’s $450 off contract ($100 more than it should be but not terrible if you need a replacement and don’t want a Nexus 4.)
Its not a terrible phone by any means, but most people just dont really care to hear about the facebook phone.
