Another carrier has gotten on-board with the trade-in wave that has come in as of late. This time, AT&T is gearing up to launch a smartphone trade-in program that will let users trade old smartphones in to go toward new smartphones, accessories, or your monthly bill. It starts May 1st — that’s tomorrow, by the way — and it will give users a chance to receive at least $100 in credit for any working smartphone (and from any carrier) that is no older than three years old.
In a lot of cases, users might find themselves with even more than $100 depending on the smartphone, so if you aren’t interested in pedaling the device on sites like Craigslist, eBay or Amazon it’s a nice route to take. Be sure to stop into your nearest AT&T shop to see how much that paperweight you’re no longer interested in carrying is worth and see if you can’t walk away with something more shiny like an HTC One or a Samsung Galaxy S4.

Wonder how much I can get for my Atrix
I’m guessing you could probably get more on ebay. Used ones in good condition go for over 100. Then again… you have to pay auction fees and junk.
Digitizer is going in it. Wonder if bootloader or ROM has anything to do with it
That was my first thought, too. Probably wouldn’t give me anything for my lapdock, though.
Not sure which Atrix model you have but here is a link to get a quote on TechPayout > https://techpayout.com/browse-by-brand/motorola/ Good luck!
Can you trade a device in for credit towards full retail on a new phone? And can you trade in more than one?
Yes and yes.
This will work out pretty well, for me. We are upgrading two lines from older smartphones in May, so this works out to buy one, get one free for either the ONE or the S4. Better than I had planned on!
I always sell my cell phones to TechPayout.com, they pay way more than AT&T, Verizon, etc.
If they will knock off that $100 towards a One right there in the store then I’m sold.
AT&T has been doing trade-ins for months.
Anyone know if this will work combined with Best Buy’s $50 off deal that you could register for a few weeks ago?
