A new hire has just joined the ranks over at Google HQ. The man is Noah Falstein and according to his LinkedIn profile, Mr. Falstein is now Google’s premier “Chief Game Designer.” What’s more is an earlier cached version of his profile worded things a little differently: “Chief Game Designer at Android Play Studio.” How ’bout that?
I know what you’re thinking, “That’s, weird. Google doesn’t make games.” Well, they kinda do. You may remember the recently released Ingress from Google’s Niantic Labs branch, a virtual reality MMO of sorts. Judging from Noah Falstein’s previous works — he was the lead designer on a few games from LucasArts, Dreamworks Interactive, and more — this dude knows games.
Given the rumors and leaks that have been floating around lately suggesting that Google could be launching a Game Center-esque platform for Android developers in the near future… it’s all starting to make sense. Nothing confirmed of course, but we’ll be keeping an eye out.

Google needs a Unified Game System like crazy. Im tired of losing my high scores after buying a new device.
Not just that but Nvidia really needs some competition I am sick of all these tegra games not everyone has a tegra device. Glad to see that google may be looking into something to help out those that do not have tegra devices.
In the first release of google glass apk, they found a bunch of google game references http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/04/18/apk-teardown-google-games-anyone-play-services-is-getting-real-time-and-turn-based-multiplayer-invitations-in-game-chat-lobbies-leaderboards-and-achievements/

In the first release of google glass apk, they found a bunch of google game references stating that google is creating a gaming sevus , similar to xbox live. http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/04/18/apk-teardown-google-games-anyone-play-services-is-getting-real-time-and-turn-based-multiplayer-invitations-in-game-chat-lobbies-leaderboards-and-achievements/
It’s about time, google is so far behind the ball on competing with Microsoft in the area of online games it’s infuriating, when phones and tablets are becoming the consoles of tomorrow, today, you need a platform on your OS for it.
Why does Dungeon Hunter 4 lag on my Galaxy Tab 10.1? Dual-core just can’t cut it anymore huh?
I think it’s more a GPU thing than CPU cores, but yeah… Tegra 2 just can’t cut it. :p
(Apparently it’s pretty to easy to cheat at the Ingress thing)
Integrate the gaming thingy with Google Now, ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner.
I think the should start to develope new applications with window phones style. sharper icons. i.e.
