Sony Mobile has really been making great strides when it comes to Android development on their devices. Take their latest release, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z. Arguably one of the sexiest Android tablets to date, the Xperia Tablet Z is getting an official taste of the pure Android experience, thanks to Sony none other than themselves.
Sony announced the good news today on their blog, with AOSP evangelist Jean-Baptiste Quéru chiming in on his Google+ page, congratulating Sony for their help in “pushing the envelope in openness.” Great work, Sony.
Still in its early stages of development, Sony doesn’t recommend anyone run the stock Android software as their daily driver (I’m sure it’s a disclaimer that will stick with the project throughout its development.
Sony is calling for developer support in their blog post, asking anyone with the know-how to help contribute to the project. For more info, make sure to visit the blog post linked below. Don’t forget to check out the video below to see stock Android 4.2.2.2.2.2.2.2.2.2 [sic] running on the Sony Xperia Tablet Z.

This awesome news
wow, looks great! anyone knows what the price will be for this product?
The various models of it will be about equivalent to the iPads in price. It’s out around end of June apparently.
I don’t understand why it’s harder for them and they need help from developers to do this. They made the tablet and the skinned android os. Don’t you start from aosp and then skin it from there? So I don’t see why they wouldn’t have already done this long ago
looks great
A stock Android experience is something OEMs are starting realize is a really easy way to give your device an edge. The timely updates that come with running pure Android is a serious advantage. Hoping more devices go this way.
Save the time rooting to install a stock ROM
They Say 499$ But i don’t bleave!
