On the heels of Motorola’s official new branding (“a Google company“) everyone’s fun loving tipster, @evleaks, may have revealed the followups to Motorola (and Verizon Wireless’) long beloved RAZR line.

According to Mr. Leaks, the Motorola RAZR Ultra, and Motorola RAZR M Ultra are headed to Verizon Wireless and while it wasn’t specifically mentioned, you can bet a Motorola RAZR MAXX Ultra will make the cut as well.

Other than that, no new information on exactly what we can expect from these devices. We can assume these wont be the mid-range, affordably spec’d devices like their Moto X cousins — Verizon does have a reputation to uphold.

    3. I’ve been looking for a GSM (Canadian) RAZR MAXX for awhile now. Can never find anyone selling it. I’d love to rock that phone.

      1. That’s because it doesn’t exist.

    4. Actually other than battery life my Razr is the best android phone I have had (galaxy, aria, etc), especially for build quality. Unfortunately maxx wasn’t out yet. physically its a tough phone and it NEVER freezes up. I hate the galaxy plastic feel.

  2. bet there is a b ig announcement soon

  3. meh

  4. The big question is whether Google is going to break Motorola’s tradition of making exclusive phones for the carriers. I really hope they do. I wanted a RAZR MAXX HD, but I don’t want Verizon. I would love a Motorola high-end phone (just like Samsung did with the Galaxy S3 & S4 and HTC did with the One) available for all the carriers. Currently, Motorola does not have one phone available for T-Mobile. I believe the Cliq line was the only supported Motorola Android devices created for T-Mobile.

    1. To build phones for other carriers, the carriers need to commit up front. Moto doesn’t spend millions in development on spec phones. VZW clearly forked out a ton of money for development (and exclusivity of certain phones). That’s not to say Moto couldn’t have created different, though similar phones for other carriers, but why spend the money developing them if the carrier won’t commit to buying them?

What would be really great is if they got their butts in gear and got the HTC One out.

    2. As I mentioned in the comment below, I’ve been looking for a GSM (Canadian) RAZR MAXX since it was released. It’s a shame I could never find anyone selling :/

      1. AT&T US won’t work with Rogers AT&T?

  7. Just a thought but could these be the actual product names they’re using for the Xfone and then the Motorola X?

    Xfone = RAZR M Ultra
    Moto X = RAZR Ultra

    1. That is not looking to be the case.

  8. I’m holding out for the Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx Ultra HD

    1. Or the Verizon Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx Ultra HD 4G?

      1. How original

      2. you left out the lte

  9. Looks like I would have to pay full price for one of these… Cause I will not be giving up my Unlimited Plan.

    1. me too

  10. @Chris Chavez. Try some of the UK retailers. You should be able to pick up a GSM one there. It’ll cost you, mind…
