T-Mobile’s new JUMP plan is allowing users to stay on the edge of technology with early upgrades. Many users may still want to keep things less complicated with an affordable smartphone, though. This is why T-Mobile has just announced its most affordable 4G LTE device – the LG Optimus F3.
This little guy takes advantage of Magenta’s new LTE network while keeping your pockets full of cash. Not only that, but it’s a very good little smartphone for its price. Let’s take a look at the specs:

- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
- 4.0-inch 480×800 IPS display
- 1.2 GHz dual-core processor
- 1 GB of RAM
- 4 GB of internal storage (with microSD support)
- 5 MP / 0.3 MP cameras
- NFC, bluetooth, WiFi
These are specs that will never match the high-end devices, but they will get the job done for the “average consumer” very well. And you can’t beat the $240 price point. The device is available on August 7 with a $0 deposit and 24 $10 monthly payments (limited time deal) on a Simple Choice plan.
It’s affordable, takes advantage of 4G LTE and its specs are good for the price. The screen may be small and the resolution won’t take you far, but IPS displays are great with color accuracy and many still don’t like the “huge phones”. I would be more than willing to recommend this little guy to some users, would you?

I’m sorry, but mid-range devices just don’t compare anymore. You can get a high-end device for $300. And every time someone ask me about buying a cheap phone, I point them to the Nexus 4.
But for those that don’t know, this is always good news.
Too many horror stories about broken glass. Also, some people like microSD support. Last year’s mid-range phones all had 512MB, not counting Optimus L9, so 1GB and dual-core is a nice step up. Choice is good.

If someone is asking me to buy a cheap phone, do you think they know much about phones? LoL!! My mom asked for an SD card once. Only because I’m her son so she learned about them. LoL!! But the phone did have like a 25MB internal. =.P
She doesn’t have an SD card in her Note 2, though. Just saying.
You’re thinking that I’m talking to people who know what firmware Android is on. These are average consumers. That’s why they’re asking me where they can find cheap phones. LoL!!
I do try and see how much they know about phones. I see what they need and if they don’t mention SD card, I point them to the Nexus 4.

I know that. But these people are asking to buy a cheap phone. They usually have about $300. They always ask me what phone should they get off of Craigslist. LoL!!

1 GB of RAM on an Android device is just asking for trouble. When I look at Android devices 2GB is a minimum spec requirement in my mind to get the most of the Android experience.
Yes but people are going for the best option for their money. Also we were all dying to have 1 GB of ram not even 2 years ago. The way i look at it. Low-Mid Range are all capable of having a decent experience compared to last years low-mid range. Improvement should always be positively noted. hell if it were me i’d want 3-4 GB of ram just because.
Well, the first-gen Nexus 7 has 1 GB of RAM. It is not a bad tablet at all and performs well enough. Let’s remember these devices are for the affordable market. If you want 2 GB you won’t find them in a $240 phone.
2GB is needed on a tablet, for most phones (especially budget), not so much. I’ve never seen my active ram go above 1GB on my Note ll. Although it is rooted.
An even better deal: Nexus 4 ($300) + $30/mo t-mobile prepaid.
Always looking at total cost of ownership. You’re smarter than the average bear. I would definitely choose the Nexus 4 for LTE and for less money.
Nexus 4 doesn’t “technically” have LTE. This phone does.

Not the cheapest 4G phone on T-Mo. Its not android, but the Lumia 521 is 150$ and has extremely good build quality. I bought one for shits and giggles. Love it! My Galaxy Note ll still gets my sim card on a daily basis though.
Most affordable 4G LTE.
This has been available on Virgin Mobile USA for several weeks now. It also has 4G LTE, but from the Sprint Network, so Idk how that’ll affect speeds, as I haven’t used it yet. Its only $180 from Virgin, though, and truly no contract.
