HTC Zara press render leaks, specs are unsurprisingly lame

HTC Zara

We haven’t heard much about the HTC Zara up until now, but it looks like our main man @evleaks has given us a sneak peak at the whole kit and kaboodle ahead of any official announcement. Alongside the typical press render you see above, we also get our first whiff of the specs this thing is supposed to carry. Drumroll please…

  • Qualcomm MSM8930 1.2GHz dual-core processor
  • 4.5-inch qHD display
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 16GB of internal storage
  • 8 megapixel camera
  • 2,100mAh battery
  • Android 4.3 with HTC Sense 5.5

According to the source, the device is supposed to be out at some point in Q4. This was never meant to be some sort of flagship, of course, so we can’t crack on HTC too hard. The device would most likely be aimed at those who don’t like spending a ton of money on gizmos and gadgets, so it sounds like the perfect fit for those in developing countries or those who prefer affordable pre-paid service.

There’s not much else to go on right about now, but as soon as any more information shoots down the rumor pipe we’ll be sure to bring it right to your attention.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. I love you, Quentyn. O_o

  2. and yet it still has boom sound…… not bad for a budget phone

    1. Serious. I was afraid HTC wouldn’t make this a staple on ALL their devices, but I’m now pleasantly surprised. :)

  3. perfect for my lil bro…

  4. “Android 4.3 with HTC Sense 5.5”

  5. looks standard HTC.. boring. I was hoping they would refresh their standard look after One.

  6. This powering sense 5. Laaaaag

    1. sense 5a like the One V with Sense 4?

      1. Hopefully this device will come to budget carriers like the One V did. Too bad I dumped my One V for the Optimus F3 (which is awesome for anyone wondering).

  7. This is basically the same specs as my Galaxy Nexus, and mine still runs great! But, I also don’t have HTC bloat.

This thing isn’t anything wonderful, but it isn’t THAT terrible for a budget device.

  8. Besides the screen and clock speed they are the same specs as iphone 5 :-) lol

    1. Yes, except the mighty GPU and the Swift cores. Would be a great phone if the OS was light and fast :-)
