Trillian, one of the longest running and most popular multi-protocol instant messaging clients, has gotten an upgrade on Android. We’re being treated to version 2.0, which brings us a long laundry list of great changes. The biggest notable change will be the new user interface, with the folks at Trillian finally getting with the times and delivering a Holo-esque experience for those on Android 4.0 or higher.
Alongside that refreshed user interface, we also get the ability to hold group chats with other Trillian users, the ability to import names and photos from your phone’s address book, new emoticons, the ability to appear mobile to those who are also using Trillian, improvements for Yahoo and MSN, the ability to manage and view all of the devices you have connected with Trillian, and more.
Trillian still supports the most widely-used protocols: Facebook Chat, MSN, Google Talk, AIM, ICQ, Yahoo!, and Jabber. If you are still on one or more of these platforms and want easy, reliable access to your chat buddies on the go then it’s definitely worth a quick download. Be sure to get that initiated by heading to the Google Play Store.
