Last week, Motorola sent us a save-the-date for a online event where they will unveil the Moto G. This entry-level smartphone is rumored to be a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro wonder, with 8GB of internal storage, a 4.5-inch 720p display, a 5 megapixel camera and more.

If you’re interested in knowing more about this phone, you’ll be happy to know that Motorola has published the live event details to Google+. Anyone can now sign up to “attend” the event on Google+, which means you’ll be able to watch a live stream of the announcement.

It’s worth noting that the announcement is taking place in Sau Paulo Brazil, which drives home the suspicion that the Moto G is poised to be a decent smartphone aimed at emerging markets. We’re interested, though, so we’ve signed up. Be sure to join us by hitting this G+ link and “RSVP’ing” for Motorola’s big day if you are, too.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. The fact that the launch event is being held in Brazil confirms my suspicion that this phone is geared towards emerging markets outside of the United States.

      1. probably 3 people!

        1. And 2 of them work for Motorola.

    2. if you know the difference between 4.3 and 4.4, then you are not the audience for this phone

  2. São Paulo*

  3. so they stew releasing the moto x all over again? by the specs it’s sounding pretty similar

  4. I think the N5 might have holed this below the waterline. Unless they are going to sell it SIM-free for less than $300.

    1. I thought from what I read the plan is for it to be sub $200 unlocked. In which case, it’s the Nexus 4 replacement. Also, I can’t imagine Google putting a new phone for sale on Play without updating it to KitKat.
