Nostalgia always gets the best of us, which is why we were excited when we learned the Double Dragon Trilogy would be making its way to Android. Well, it’s here, and we’re glad to say that we haven’t been disappointed one bit. For $2.99, DotEmu has ported this classic in a way that feels familiar, yet can feel fresh depending on the options you choose.
The game features both arcade and story mode, three difficulty levels (mobile, original and expert), achievements and leaderboards through Google Play Games, co-op via Bluetooth, gamepad support and more. You can even choose between the original 8-bit soundtrack or a newly-remastered soundtrack especially made for this release.
You’ll get all three games for this one price, so if you are a Double Dragon nut and want to get your fix on the go, downloading this is a no-brainer. It’s in the Google Play Store, so get over there and check it out for yourself.
no thanks…. don’t get me wrong the games were awesome but also difficult as all hell and instead of an nes controller being thrown in rage it would be my phone.
Lol, indeed. Imagine a game like Battletoads or TMNT on your phone.. it’d be tortureous.
Rage quitting would never be more expensive lol
Lol!
It claims to support bluetooth controllers, so it could be doable. I still have my NES and SNES versions, so I aint in any hurry :)
The Bluetooth controller would get smashed then lol I just don’t download it and save money across the board.
Sounds like you didn’t figure out the tricks for these games. I was able to beat them all as a kid (easier in 2-player mode).
I wonder if I can elbow my way through the game like I did in the late 80’s.
I played it a bit this morning. It’s pretty hard but very playable and fun. I like how they didn’t ruin it by giving unlimited lives and continues like most old school arcade ports.
The controls were incredibly lousy. Sure these games aren’t made to be played with touch screen but still they could have been a lot better.
