Boost Mobile Moto G

Earlier today we saw the Motorola Moto G made official for Verizon Wireless prepaid, coming in at only $100. Now pay-as-you-go MVNO Boost Mobile is also jumping on the handset, offering the Moto G for $130 come January 14th (retail stores on 1/20).

For those that don’t feel like waiting, you can snag the handset right now through the Home Shopping Network, who’s even offering the G with a $30 mail-in-rebate. That’s basically $100 for a fully capable Android device, running on Sprint’s network. Not too shabby.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

T-Mobile shook up the wireless industry in 2013, now they want to “transform” it in 2014

  1. This phone is set to take over the world.

    1. Can you imagine the sales of this thing if it had LTE?

      Good lord…

Still thinking of picking one up for my son….

      1. I think it was strategically left out by Motorola more to avoid cannibalizing Moto X sales from the Moto X, than a cost cutting measure.

    2. It’s the Nexus 4 reincarnated.

      1. There’s too much win in this comment! XD

  2. sheesh… why am I seeing this puny device everywhere online?… funny tho, haven’t seen this or the Moto X in any ones hands since launch.

  3. Being locked into CDMA carriers, I have no use for this phone.

    1. They do sell a GSM version. Still don’t understand the hate on CDMA, I’ve managed to live my life tied to it for over a decade now and still okay.

      1. Yes, but the GSM versions is $180.00. It’s not that we hate CDMA technology. Well, I don’t. I just hate most of the CDMA carriers here in the US. Most of them wont let you activate a phone from another company on their network. It doesn’t matter if the phone is prepay, off-contract or “unlocked”. They simply refuse to activate it because they want you to buy a new phone and/or sign up for a 2 year contract. Thus, when I upgrade my phone or switch providers, my old phone is worth much less than a GSM equivalent. Putting artificial/carrier restrictions on CDMA phones causes the resale value to drop because it’s locked to a specific carrier (for the most part).

  4. Just outta curiosity, is this the 8GB variant, or 16GB….my guess is going from the price…..it’s a 8GB variant.
I personally don’t mind the fact about the 3g only, but then again I guess I’ve never been a big huge user of 4g, so it’s not an issue for me.
The 8GB storage is however a deal breaker for me.

    1. It should be the 8gb variant but maybe there should be a 16 variant coming in days.

  5. One of the best phone you can get global gsm unlocked from amazon or Motorola site for $189 . phone build is rock solid excellent antenna. it clocks 6-8 mbs on att network. display is gorgeous, comes with stock Android ..best point unlocked
