Yesterday, we were made privy to early pre-order opportunities for Samsung’s latest tablets — the Samsung Galaxy NotePro 12.2 and the Samsung Galaxy TabPro 12.2, 10.1 and 8.4. Samsung has announced the details with a formal press release, though, and we now have a more clear idea of where you’ll be able to find these things once they ship February 13th. (Note: this is for all versions of the tablets except the TabPro 12.2, which Samsung says will be here in March). Here’s the full list:
- Samsung.com
- Best Buy
- Walmart
- Amazon
- Tiger Direct
- PC Richard and Sons
- Fry’s
- Newegg
Samsung has also mentioned that Verizon will be the first to offer the NotePro 12.2 with 4G LTE connectivity, though they didn’t have anything to share outside of “later this quarter.” We’ve also gotten official pricing for all these devices and their variants:
- Note Pro 12.2: $749.99 (32 GB), $849.99 (64 GB)
- Tab Pro 12.2: $649.99 (32 GB)
- Tab Pro 10.1: $499.99 (16 GB)
- Tab Pro 8.4: $399.99 (16 GB)
That’s a steep price to pay for some of those, but there’s some pretty hardcore technology at work here. The NotePro, for instance, features 2560 x 1600 resolution, 3GB of RAM, Exynos octa-core processor, 8 megapixel camera, S-Pen, a 9,500 mAh battery and more.
The TabPro lineup is a bit more reserved with a Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM, but still enjoys the same resolution and camera sensors as the NotePro. We’ll be looking to track down pre-order links for each of the above retailers, so check back periodically.

Too expensive. But I would suggest tigerdirect cuz no tax.
Looks very Windows Metro-y and that’s not a bad thing.
Cuz it looks way better than windows.
Actually, I could have considered the 32Gb Note, if not for this horrible UI. No Windows for me, neither Windows-wannabeies.
Those prices are crazy, they are charging $150 more for a Tab Pro 8.4 than they did for the Tab 2 7.0 or Tab 3 7.0.
The tab 2 7″ was nice but not Super high end. The tab 3s were/are ultrabudget devices. The tab pro, especially the 8″,are downright bleeding edge, and well worth the $50 price premium over the current best 8″ tablet, the G Pad GPE.
Maybe so but it still doesn’t change that these aren’t going to be successors for the Tab 2 and Tab 3 at these prices.
Unless Samsung is looking to cede the mainstream tablet market to Amazon and others they will need to introduce a Tab 4 in both 7″ and 10.1″ this year as well that are priced comparably to their predecessors.
Not sure that these are even meant to be successors to the tab line. Hence the Tab Pro. They will probably update the mainstream line later this year. I am glad they have this offering, as I want the display that the 8.4 has.
They announced the Tab Pro/Note Pro at the same time they announced the Tab 2 & Tab 3 so if there will be a Tab 4 it will be on a later time schedule than their predecessors.
I get that, though one of the things I really like about my 7.0 is that it’s small enough that I can put it in my pocket, something I probably couldn’t do as easily or comfortable with an 8.4.
Getting tired of incorrect information on here. I love this site but your specs for the tab pro and not fully accurate.
Android tablets have now beat Apple for most expensive tablets! at least Samsung tablets have anyway. u may as well get a surface pro for these prices, then ur tablet would be a tru PC.
yeah but with a surface pro you’re stuck with about 4 hour battery life
Thats pretty close to average laptop battery life isnt it? thats in use not stand by correct?
Yeah, but it is a tablet… Most tablets are around double that. I agree though the Surface pro for specs is the only thing in that price range worth buying.
The Transformer T100 can be had for around $300 – $400 on the cheaper end if you catch a sale, 10.6″ screen, full Windows 8.1 with office, fast processor, micro SD, 10 hour battery life and includes the keyboard docking station with USB 3.0 and an HDMI port. Best tablet you can get for under $400 and way better than a surface pro 2 and most android tablets in that range, since I picked one up around Christmas my Tab 3 has been dedicated to streaming Google Music in my car!
That had not been on my radar til now, thanks. I am very interested in a Windows tablet at least one running a non ARM cpu. I actually gave my Nexus 7 away over the holidays and have just been using my phone..
Disagree on that. The iPad mini starts at $399, same price as the Galaxy 8.4 and the specs on the 8.4 are way better than the mini.
more ram yes, more screen pixels yes, but im not sure i would give the snapdragon 800 anything over the A7 w/ 64 bit. not way better but i see ur point. i was looking at the most expensive option when i stated that tho.
Why exactly the Note 12 costs almost double of the Note 10 I can’t figure out… maybe is the “pro” in its name but that doesn’t make it any more right… not buying any of them… and I’m a Samsung lover. Where’s the Note 8 Pro btw? Ugh.
A glaring omission indeed. Perhaps it’ll be revealed @ MWC 2014 later this month.
The TAB PRO series looks nice, but, why they stopped @ 2GB RAM (vs 3GB in the NOTE PRO) is kinda baffling.
If the outer dimensions of a NOTE PRO 8 are similar to the TAB PRO 8.4 (minimal bezel) ,definitely a winner.
Yes, I hope they reveal the new Note 8 Pro soon… I think 8-9″ is the perfect tablet size, great portability, for reading and playing games… the Tab Pro 8 really looks great, I just don’t know how Samsung is going to get away with the $400 tag, it should be like the LG 8,3″ Google Edition and cost $350 as well. Samsung is getting very greedy IMO.
You should take a look @ the LG G-PAD 8.3, it’s definitely a nice tablet.
The SD 600 & 2GB RAM is plenty, even w/LG’s U/I.
BEST BUY sells it now, take a look & you’ll walk away w/one…, especially if you catch a sale, or, keep an eye on NEWEGG for sale pricing, got mine from them (via their e-Bay store) for $260.
Crap straight crap
I’m picking up the note pro. might as well get the 64gb version while I’m at it. yes, they are expensive but these are some extreme tablets. I for one am excited about the larger screen and magazine ux. be great for taking notes, preparing for speeches and so on. these are not for everybody, and Samsung knows that. that is why they put the “pro”on the end. either way, it’s going to be a helluva tablet and those that do buy them are going to love them.
If they make a Google Play Edition I’ll pick one up.
Pre ordered mine
