Revered Twitter leakster @evleaks promised that we were only just getting started with all the HTC One M8 Prime leaks, and he has come through with another — a very clean look at the upper-back portion of the device’s press render. It certainly does look HTC One-ish with that extra depth information camera and that iconic white stripe racing through it.
While this photo obviously doesn’t tell us much we can take a couple of things away from it. For starters, it seems HTC has elected to go with a raised camera sensor for the primary camera as opposed to the flush installation on the original HTC One M8.
And while it’s hard to tell from a cropped press render, the material doesn’t look quite as shiny as the original M8 did in its press photos. This could lend credence to the rumor from yesterday suggesting HTC has gone with a new material made of a composite of aluminum and liquid silicone. This would stand to give the device that same premium feel while giving it more grip for those who complained about how slippery the original M8 is.
And that’s all that’s new today. So far, we know that this thing could come in at 5.5 inches, have 2560 x 1440 resolution, a Snapdragon 805 chipset, 3GB of RAM and will be waterproof. Sounding like quite the impressive phone for sure, but we’ll have to wait for official word to see if this is more than just wishful thinking.
@evleaks decided to add another image after the buzzer, including a full, 360-degree GIF of the alleged One M8 Prime. Bask in its splendor.
