Last year, Samsung released a water resistant version of their flagship dubbed the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. The phone featured rugged, industrial stylings along with hardware buttons and screws. It was very unlike the sleek Galaxy S4, but it served a purpose. This year, with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung decided to bring that water resistance to their default flagship line, leaving us to assume we wouldn’t see an Active variant. How wrong we were.
Alleged Samsung Galaxy S5 Active side-by-side with the regular Galaxy S5
Leaked onto the YouTubes moments ago is the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active (SM-G870A) for AT&T. A fella going by the name of TK Tech News managed to get his hands on the device, which features a thick, rugged outer shell but similar Galaxy S5 internals. We’re still trying to wrap our heads around why a device like this needs to even exist, but in the meantime, check out the quick hands on video down below.

Sorry to go off topic, but heck yeah!

Woah… Thanks!
No problem! Keep up the good work.
Interesting to say the least. His video on the GS5 Prime is also interesting. Disappointing to see the G5P with a 1080p display, but then again, it’s a pre-production model.
OK so what we get from this wild pic: The Galaxy S5 Active, Tic-Tacs, and A dirty arm rest. cool.
You forgot the McCafe coffee :D
Att GS5 for sale, haha
THIS is what should have been available (worldwide on all carriers),instead of the Band-Aid phone, which looks like a cheap knock-off.
This Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone include Samsung MHL to HDMI Adapter like http://goo.gl/RxMDsA ?
I actually kinda like the looks of this one better(except for the cheap buttons) than the standard gs5 thats for sure.
Looks like it has some nice advantages over the standard S5 – http://versus.com/en/samsung-galaxy-s5-vs-samsung-galaxy-s5-active
I don’t like this Galaxy S5 Active model that comes with three physical navigation keys. For me, my “real” Galaxy S5 is the best phone I have ever had till date. I like its water and dust resistant body, 16MP camera to capture best memorable moments, touch wiz finger print scanner for better security, and 2800mAh battery to explore more apps without worry about battery status. The one thing which is little annoying is its flap over the charging port. Well,
but not an issue as I recently purchased a wireless charger for it to keep my device fully charged by simply placing it on the wide charging pad.
