Because not everyone is a fan of Gmail (we know, preposterous), Google has just dropped the stock Android Email app onto the Google Play Store for the downloading. The app looks to have been updated since we last seen it, featuring a design that falls in line with other Google apps, including a fancy slide out menu.
If you’ve got a Nexus or Google Play edition device, you can download/update right now via the link below. Really, it seems this is yet another way for Google to continue modularizing their platform so that small app updates can be done individually, with users no longer having to wait around for a major firmware release.
Download on Google Play: Email
Still doesn’t suppose exchange properly
How not?
It maybe bug for me that’s never been fixed through either the 4.4.2 or .3 update. I’m able to download 3rd party apps to get to my exchange account but I’d much prefer to use the stock app, however each time I’ve tried even after a factory reset I get: “cannot connect to server”
That screenshot is from my Exchange account…works fine for me.
No exchange option when setting up new email account on my xperia z2 tablet, just IMAP or POP.
Exactly. IMAP does not equal Exchange ActiveSync.
I use this exclusively for Exchange/work without any problems. It even downloads photos from my Exchange contact list.
The official “Outlook” app simply doesn’t work on Android, though seems fine on iOS.
*sync up with*
Don’t get why it’s being needlessly restricted. So I’ll just keep using K-9
It seems to be US-only for now. It says it cannot be installed in my country. I’m in the UK.

It actually got pushed to my device, even though it is disabled. Interesting…
Next they need to drop the stock Browser.
Got the APK and installed it on my Droid Ultra.
Why only Google devices??? The rest of us would like the updated version as well…
Can’t install on a Galaxy Nexus.
Worst Nexus ever :(
Because why would they want to support the other 95% of the android user base! “If you’re not on a nexus or play store edition phone, then piss off!” Silly.
Still deletes POP3 mails from server when set to “never delete from server”. I guess they will never fix that. And another round for K-9…
I still use Touchdown for exchange. It’s the only app I can find that allows you to change the font in your emails so it matches company font and people can’t tell when you’re not at work and replying to emails.
