Outside of Blinkfeed we weren’t sure which apps HTC would look to bring to phones they don’t make when they first mentioned plans to do so a while back. Zoe was confirmed to be one of the first a couple of days ago, though, and now it’s arrived — folks without an HTC device can download the HTC Zoe app from Google Play.
In case you haven’t been able to experience an HTC phone in quite a while, Zoe is an app that allows you to throw photos and video together into a highlight reel. Combine those with some music, filters and more into a big bowl and let the app do its work to create a cool clip to share with friends. Your friends can also remix your Zoe clip by adding their own photos and video, a perfect way to make sure you have every angle and memory stitched together into one awesome clip.
There are a couple of caveats, natch. The first is that this is considered a beta, so the app isn’t even guaranteed to work as intended. We’re sure there won’t be any huge experience breaking bugs, but know that the possibility is there. The second is that this is only available for devices running Android 4.4 right now, a version that just 20% of all Android devices out there are currently running. Knowing that, though, you can find the download right here so long as your device meets the prerequisites.
Is this very similar to what Auto Awesome does in G+?
Pretty much, yeah.
Can’t sign in or create an HTC account. Forces me to sign in with 2 social networks which I would less like to be involved with. Especially Facebook.
Both of my Samsung Phones are with Android 4.4.2 and I can’t download it.
