Early this morning, HTC One M8 users on T-Mobile were greeted with a prompt notifying them that a system update, build 2.22.531.5, is now available for their device. The update, which brings the firmware up to Android 4.4.3 seemed to hit rather suddenly given the absence of the usual support docs giving users a heads up ahead of time. No worries. We’ve already been updated and here’s what you can expect from the 4.4.3 update:
HTC One M8 2.22.531.5 software update (582.04MB)
System improvements
- Android 4.4.3
- Security fixes
Performance optimization
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- Mobile network
Application updates
- Camera
- Gallery (Image Match)
- Settings (Power History)
- HTC Sync Manager
Sense experience optimization
- HTC BoomSound
- Extreme Power Saving Mode
- Motion Launch
- Quick Setting
IMPORTANT: Once you’ve updated, make sure to check for another software update to find an important GPS update waiting for you (pictured above).
You can manually check for software updates by opening up the Settings app and selecting About > Software updates > Check now (also handy if should you not feel like waiting for the update to hit your device). So far, our One M8 is behaving normally, but should you encounter any bugs or issues, feel free to let us know down below.
We should also note that HTC included all the security fixes from Android 4.4.4 in their 4.4.3 update, so don’t feel like you’re missing out on anything.
Already got it, very substantial update. : )
Your emoticon looks creepy.
Except it’s not, but thanks.
Can you give any details on how its been working for you so far? Is it any snappier? Does Sense seem better? Any new Themes maybe?
Lucky you guys of TO HTC owners. LG said they will do kitkat update for mine and thousands of other users of Optimus G in summer but summer is about to pass and no news yet when such update will arrive. Next time I will buy iphone so software updaes arrive in timely manner on all iphone models.
Exactly why I don’t buy LG phones anymore. The G3 looks really nice, but I know there will be very little support for it from LG.
Get an M8 and convert it to a Google Play Edition. Updates fly in. Ive had 4.4.4 for months now.
