The iPhone 6’s launch this past weekend proved people are still excited about Apple, so you can imagine the countless shameless manufacturers out there looking to cash in on its success. It didn’t take long, but the first iPhone 6 clone has arrived.
The device you see in the video above is the “Sophone i6,” which totally sounds legit. The device is built to look just like an iPhone 6, though obviously not with the same build quality that you’d get from the real deal out of Cupertino. It also won’t be loaded with nearly as good specs:
- 4.7-inch 960 x 540 display
- 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor
- 2GB of RAM
- Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with a totally original skin on top
- Fingerprint scanner
- 13 megapixel rear Sony camera, 4.9 megapixel front camera
- USB 2.0, aGPS, Bluetooth 4.0
- 1810mAh battery
- 139.5 x 67.0 x 7.5 mm, 112g
Jokes aside, though, this may not be a bad smartphone for its price — $140 as of the time of this writing. It could get the job done for someone who doesn’t have hundreds to spend on a legit iPhone or a high quality Android, though we’d just as soon suggest they go with something like the Moto G. You can watch a pretty full hands-on video from the retailer above.

I find it hilarious this cruddy knockoff actually has higher resolution cameras than the actual iPhone 6
It even has twice the RAM…
For $140, it’s a pretty amazing deal with a fingerprint scanner and all :o
And how smooth does it look? even the simplest task like bringing up the menu with switches make the phone look slow, happens quit allot during the video. iOS works pretty well with the optimized OS.
Its the experience that counts not numbers in this specific case.
For 1/9th of the cost of an iphone 6, it looks pretty damn smooth, considering it’s running a far more feature-packed OS. iOS’s “smoothness” is mostly illusion anyways – how many times have you switched to an app and had to wait for the screenshot to actually start the app (yes, you’re clicking on a screenshot, not a fully-running app). For me, my ipad 4th gen lags way more than any of my Android devices when moving from app to app.
I have both S4 and 5S and honestly my 5S is way way faster and smoother (screenshot or not it just works smoother and better), sure it cant do everything my S4 offers can but ii appreciate that the basic stuff works much better on 5S.
You can think what ever you want but it wont change my opinion one bit, Android is just to shaky for my taste, simplest things like marking text, browsing properly (specially forums and typing text), backup/restore just works so so much better on iOS. I dont care about spec, i do care about my time and how well the basic things work. I dont need to run torrents in the background and stuff like that. For 99% of people what iOS offers is just more then enough.
I’m not trying to change your opinion at all – use whatever you like! I’m just saying for $140, you get a pretty decent “crappy-knockoff”. I will say that I’d much rather use an Android device over an ios device – I just need to be able to customize, multitask and do things that I can’t with ios.
Sure for 140$ its ok i guess and to each their own, its good we have choices :)
yeah but let’s not act like the pictures will be even half as good as iphone 6’s.
Without the Apple logo, the iPhone 6 also worth not more than $200. It’s just the power of brand.
LOL keep believing that :)
It looks better than the real iPhone …
Clone or not junk will be junk
Let’s just say what everyone is thinking apple is for the old and hip and is a dumbed down phone for people who don’t want to learn anything everything they release is outdated
I need a certain bloke with an English accent on Youtube to review this technology tat
An Excellent Suggestion
1810mAh battery – weak
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean – and destined to stay there
1810 isn’t that different than what gives you
Look on the bright side, probably a decent phone with better specs than the original. Also gives the less financially able apple fans a way to be in with rest of the isheep.
They didn’t seem really committed to the ios skin theme on this phone. A lot of stock Android was showing
My god that was the slowest worst demo ever. Also it looks like it uses lightning not usb 2.0 connector(is that even legal?). I’m not even sure that is lag it looks like the digitizer is broken it only registered like every 5th touch plus during the movie playback out kept pausing as if it had been touched even though his hands were nowhere near the screen. I’m really curious what happens when you push that siri button?
Immitation is the best form of flattery. NOT!
Wonder if it bends in ur pocket like the real thing.
does it have the same bending issue as the iphone 6?
