After a series of teaser videos starring movie star James Franco were uploaded to YouTube, tonight, as the clock struck midnight, the full ad has finally been revealed. This time uploaded onto Verizon’s YouTube channel, the video — which is now prominently featured on the DroidDoes website  — finally shows off some of the Motorola DROID Turbo’s best features (like the fact that it’s fast and can deliver 8 hours of battery life from a 15 minute charge). Verizon drives home the point with Franco free falling from a building but not giving AF thanks to his blazing fast DROID Turbo which he uses to change his trajectory.

In fact, the phone is now officially available for purchase from Verizon’s website in black, red, or ballistic nylon. The 32GB model will run you $200 with a 2-year agreement ($25 a month on payments), or 64GB for $250 ($27.08 on payments). If you’re looking to go the full price route, 32GB is $600 and 64GB is $650. Keep in mind the only color option/finish for the 64GB model is ballistic nylon.

We’ll admit, we tried to hold off on purchasing (weren’t a fan of the looks) but in the end, there’s just no denying 2-day battery life and a near stock Android experience. You win, Verizon. We’ll bite. Expect our full Motorola DROID Turbo review in the coming days.

Droid Turbo just got even tougher. Now, if the chemically strengthened display becomes damaged during the first two years, you can replace it once for free. It’s the extra confidence you need so you can rise to the moment.

Why hasn’t anyone reported that? That’s pretty amazing

    1. That is awesome and we did report on it: http://ydfgg.com/2014/10/28/droid-turbo-official/

It’s like HTC Advantage, but better.

      1. So quentin going to get this device?

  2. I’m not seeing the special early Edge upgrade option that was detailed on Phandroid and on Verizon’s own site…the Verizon rep told me I couldn’t do it. Here is the information pulled straight from Verizon’s site.

“Verizon Edge pricing is also available for DROID Turbo – and from launch through the end of the year, Verizon has a special early upgrade to Edge for anyone who upgraded prior to July 1, 2014 and wants to purchase the smartphone.”

I tried taking advantage of the special early upgrade but I’m not eligible, even though I meet the July 1, 2014 requirement.

    Anyone got any ideas?

  4. Falling is _really_ hard on battery life.

  5. Priced at $599 for off contract? Lower than Nexus 6. Seems like a great phone really want it, however with another carrier because Verizon is just too expensive.

    1. You should recheck the current rates at Verizon… pretty low and you do get the best network out there. My phone literally is never without coverage. Had ATT and Sprint in the past… and they sucked.

      1. I made the switch from Verizon about a year ago and I’m happy with my service and the cost. I’m sure he’s happy with the service he has already.

        1. Well good for you. His statement was that Verizon is too expensive. My reply is accurate. Vz’s price structure is competitive and there is no arguing the fact that they have the very best network.

    2. Your right. I wanted the Nexus 6 but since it’s not available right now I looked at the Z3, the Z3 compact and Droid Turbo. I’m on AT&T and have no issues with their coverage, LTE, and or pricing. I loved the $599 price for the Turbo however when I chose my plan I would be paying like $140 for 1 phone off contract and only 8 GB of data. Ummm…no thank you Verizon. Your not that much better if at all in my area.

  6. I’m headed to Verizon right when they open at 10am. They better have the 64GB in stock. Cannot wait to dump my S4, it’s stupid touch wiz and 6 hour battery life (with my heavy use) on eBay.

    1. dude, i am with you 100%! my S4 sucks now, and with the lack of storage, maybe 6hr battery life, and other subtle issues, i cannot wait to get this monster! looking for bestbuy to start selling it though, using some discounts.

  7. Are they available at any other retailers, or only from Verizon? I have a Best buy gift card that’s patiently waiting to be used.

    1. The USA AT&T version has already passed the FCC and will probably be called “Moto X Play”. “Droid” may be “exclusive” to Verizon, but the same model under a different name often shows up at other carriers.

“Droid Turbo” will become the “Moto X Play” for AT&T.

Droid Turbo (Verizon: FCC ID IHDT56PK1)

      Moto X Play (AT&T: FCC ID IHDT56PK2 )

Has AT&T bands, and the documentation also states that the new device “is electrically equivalent to the certified device carrying FCC ID IHDT56PK1.”

What I’m REALLY waiting for is a “Pure Edition” of the “Moto X Play” — like Motorola has done for the 2014 Moto X. No carrier branding, no bloatware, unlockable bootloader.

  8. This is an alligator, a behemoth, a monster, predator, Terminator phone. Well done Motorola oops! Lenovo.

  9. It’s this in 64gb or the Z3v for me. Been waiting to head to VZW to compare side by side.

  10. 64GB version! Woohoo!

  11. The only color option for 64GB version is Black, not Ballistic Nylon.

  12. There’s apparently two websites for this; one shows black/red 32GB only, the other is titled Droid Turbo in Ballistic Nylon and allows Black 64GB version. I’m confused.

  13. Yeah, to bad life doesn’t work that way for real.
No wonder kids go ballistic nowadays, news flash, no one is invincible.

  14. AND..now he has hair?

I guess the Turbo makes your hair grow faster as well, which means you have to shave more. No thanks Motorola, I’ll pass.

  15. How come the only phone in the world I would give up my HTC m7 for is stuck on Verizon!!!Fml. I wanted the z3 but if it only had the snap 805 then it wouldn’t even be a competition ..with Sony’s water proof and camera plus micro SD .. it would be the easy choice but that 805 is so future proof. Mind you that the snap 600 is still running great though, si I may just wait for a z4 or if Motorola decides to make a droid turbo for us all..please moto
