It didn’t take long for Motorola to officially confirm the existence of the Moto Maxx. The company has announced that it will be on its way to folks in Latin America and Mexico this year. The Moto Maxx is essentially a pure branded version of Verizon’s Motorola DROID Turbo. They both share the same specs and features, sans that Verizon flair you’ve come to know and love (or hate?). Here’s what to expect, then:
- 5.2-inch Quad HD display,
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC (Quad-Core @ 2.7GHz),
- 3GB RAM
- 64GB of internal storage
- 21MP camera that shoots 4K video, 2 megapixel front camera
- and a 3900mAh battery for 48 hours of battery life
And folks will be happy to know that the ballystic nylon finish isn’t a Verizon exclusive — the Moto Maxx features the tough, premium material by default. You simply can’t find much better than this on the market right now, and we’re glad it’s starting to find its way to more folks.
The device is headed to Brazilian shores as early as today via Motorola.com, while those in Mexico can find it mid-November. Other Latin American countries should stay tuned for more news on its arrival later this year. Don’t forget to take a look at the first 10 things you should do when you get the Moto Maxx or DROID Turbo, our hands-on with its twin brother and be on the lookout for our review of the device in the very near future!

Is there ANY non-Verizon phone with these specs, IN A FORM FACTOR LESS THAN 5.5″, that’s available in the US? Hell, I would settle for 32gb of storage instead of 64, but nothing less than that.
Would this version work on T Mobile or ATT in the US and get full LTE support?
Keeping my fingers this will be the case for the Mexican version.
Que?
Mantener los dedos este será el caso de la versión mexicana.

What about Europe? Asia? Australasia?
Am I going to have to order from a Mexican online retailer…?
Si Señor
Gracias!
De nada
Man, were so hoping that this would confirm a global launch too. Are there any earlier examples on what this could mean for Europe? Is Latin America usually a market that gets phones that are otherwise US only? Goddamit.
Please bring this phone to the U.S. for us non-verizon subs!
I don’t think they technically can given Verizon probably paid for an exclusive in the US. Hoping that doesn’t rule out Motorola selling it an unlocked version direct to consumers, but we’ll see…
Why Latin America always get the goods? When were stuck with the lame X phone.
