That didn’t take long, did it? If you were scarred by the one-week delay of the Nexus 6 on Verizon you’ll be happy to know that the phone received a full retail launch today (those who preordered online last week should already have it in their hands). You can order one online right now and have it shipped to your door as soon as tomorrow, or simply stop into a brick and mortar location to get one in person.
Verizon has one model available — Midnight Blue in 32GB — and it’ll run you $250 on a one-year contract, $27.08 per month on Verizon Edge, or $650 outright. If the lack of the 64GB or Cloud White options bothers you, you can always opt to buy one straight from Motorola or Google and get it activated in no time (though that obviously means you will have to pay full price).
And here’s the best part of this entire story: Verizon doesn’t install an obnoxious amount of bloatware during the setup process, and their logo is so easy to remove from the rear that it’ll probably fade off on its own at some point. Head here to buy if you’re interested.
still no 5.1 OTA for AT&T….lucky VZW. Cant wait to see some sales figures to see if they waited too long to actually release the phone….
Nexus phones were never high selling. I suspect a lot of Android buyers who know about the S6 are waiting. The rest buy either an iPhone or whatever the sales rep. is pushing that day.
I may pick one up. Still undecided.
I love my N6, glad I snagged it up but yeah I know they are not selling that much. It just seems they did a lot of work to finally get it released on VZW, just curious to see how that will or will not pay off for them.
It doesn’t help sales when Verizon waits a few extra months to release a phone that should already be released.
I will probably wait and pick up a used one once the prices come down. The limited supply has really kept the price of the used phones pretty high.
so true, good point. I should have followed this logic from the get-go. =
I would have loved to bought one at launch, but I couldn’t stomach the full price. I’ve been checking a few times a month to see if the used ones have gotten affordable and it just hasn’t happened.
U can flash it
i’m having issues trying that on my Chromebook….its just not working right when i do the ADB method
Have been thinking this for a long time about all this: http://i.imgur.com/w4QNVXc.jpg
“and it’ll run you $250 on a one-year contract” is this correct information, or is it supposed to be 2 years?
2 years as it states in the picture
You’re much better at seeing than I am.
I pre-ordered my Nexus 6 from vzw.com on the 12th with an “expected to ship” date of 3/18. Of course, I’m the one to run into problems where I get several notifications stating the order is cancelled but new ones are created – then come today it still hasn’t shipped because, according to a couple call center reps, they are out of stock.
Finally one rep was very nice and used a bit of logic to not just read my order status to me but to actually investigate. Now I’m told my card has been run today and it will ship today.
I will believe it when I actually see my tracking number!
Bought my 64G Blue N6 from google in November, went in to the Verizon store yesterday to have it activated and they told me the IEMI isn’t in their database so it can’t be activated. I’m using a trimmed sim card from my old S3, but wanted to legitimize my N6 on Verizon.
No idea how to get this fixed…but will try to contact google when I have some time.
Fucking Verizon.
I’m in the same boat. Let me know if you get an answer!
Just buy a Verizon version and take it back (better, sell it) a few days later. Once the sim and serials are kosher the device stays that way. Three different Google devices and two Motorola, so unless it’s a really big fluke..
I saw on VZW site that it was black. Is that not true and only the midnight blue?
Its only blue
So, is it the same phone from VZW.com and Google store? I had a Galaxy Nexus several years ago and those were slightly different handsets. I want the 64GB model if I can get it, but need it to work on Verizon. Also, can I use the SIM out of my Droid Maxx, if need be?
