Sony Xperia Z3 back on sale at T-Mobile and with a new lower price

T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z3

Claims that T-Mobile discontinued the Sony Xperia Z3 a few weeks ago seem to have been a bit premature. Although the device was reportedly no longer for sale earlier this month, it seems it may have simply been out of stock. The Xperia Z3 has returned to T-Mobile, sporting a new, lower price tag than before.

Marked down from $630 to $500 (full price), the phone can be put on a T-Mobile payment plan for just $20.83 a month for 2 years. Not a bad deal for a fully capable Android handset, one of the best even. After Sony quietly announced the Sony Xperia Z4 in Japan to little fanfare, our fingers are crossed Sony has something better planned for later this year.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. I was just commenting with the fellas on Tmonews…this is a good deal for a 7 month old phone….

  2. And I will be waiting for this Xperia Z5?

  3. And I will be wa-inting for the next Xperia Compact… Z4…. Z5?

  4. I wish Sony would quit releasing the same phones with incremental upgrades as often and instead release a broader range of phones. They seem to have several people who love/loved the Ultra and the Compact. So only release one line of phones per year but offer it in all three sizes. Start with the Z4 and offer a Z4 Ultra, a Z4 Compact, and a regular Z4. Sorry for a somewhat unrelated rant.

  5. Maybe one day it will get lollipop.

    1. It got the update in March for unlocked NA/European models. Always takes longer for carrier versions to get it though :/

      1. Oh, I know, Chris. A lot of carriers worldwide have gotten it, but T-Mobile is being very tight-lipped about whether they’re even testing it yet.

        1. Check here, appears the T-Mo version is slated for 5.0

The matter of when is anyone’s guess:

  7. I remember when I was super excited for this phone. I decided against it because of how slow the updating process can be but I’m tempted once again at this price. I ended up buying the Note 4 but I’m really on the fence with this though because the Z4 may be coming soon.

  8. I’d so love a Sony phone if it had stock android.
