Huawei has an announcement set to be made tomorrow, June 3rd, and we’re wondering what, exactly, it is. Our initial suspicion is that the rumors of a Huawei P8 Lite launch for the United States will turn out true. While there’s no concrete evidence of that, the teaser they have on their website shows parts of a phone that resembles the design of the P8 Lite in near identical fashion.
Of course, that doesn’t mean Huawei can’t borrow design languages for use on other phones, so we’ll always have to keep open the possibility that it’s something else. We’re also hoping to hear some info about the launch of the Huawei Watch in the United States. The watch was previously revealed at CES and actually grabbed a great deal of attention (see our Huawei Watch hands-on), but Huawei has been hush-hush on availability details.
What else? Well, we know the Huawei MediaPad T1 8.0 is still set to launch soon. The listing on their website has had a fat “Coming Soon” label on it for a few months now, so we wouldn’t be surprised if they’re getting ready to roll that one out, as well.
Our hope is that we also hear something about a launch of the flagship Huawei P8 for a US launch. It’s the company’s top-line device and it would be a great way to make an impression for the US consumer base (which is decidedly behind the Samsungs, HTCs and LGs of the world). The announcement happens tomorrow so be sure to circle back to see what exactly the company has in store!
I thought they said that they had a press conference today June 2? What happened to that?
Yeah, me too! I’ve been searching for news on today’s event (June 2nd) in New York but it’s been quiet all day. I saw this article and thought it might be a mistake. Did the event date change or is this a different event?

Nexus 5, 2015. 5.2″ screen, 3500mAh battery.
Would buy that on credit instantly. No regrets.
Google would never allow them to announce it.
Wasn’t there talk of a 5 inch variant and 6 inch variant coming out?
Yeah and I mixed them up. 5.2″ is rumored to be LG and 5.7″ Huawei.

I don’t see Google letting Huawei announce the Nexus 2015.
Yeah that’s not going to happen. Wishful thinking.
Calling it now, the Huawei Watch
They’re announcing that they will disable the Chinese spy chips in all of their devices by 2017.
