Moto X Play, Droid MAXX II and Moto Surround names leaked by familiar source

We know Motorola has a few new devices in the Pipeline, including the Moto X, Moto G and Moto 360 2015 editions, but serial leakster Evan Blass tells us to stay on the lookout for at least three more.

The man has dropped three names to keep an eye out for:

Names alone don’t tell us much, of course, but we can always make educated guesses. Moto X Play? Probably a more affordable version of Motorola’s upcoming flagship smartphone, though with an updated Moto G on the way that would be a pretty weird launch. An alternative theory is that this could be a rugged version of the Moto X.

DROID MAXX II is obviously slated to be a sequel to one of the best phones in Verizon’s lineup. The MAXX line has prided itself on 2-day battery life, and even though the original DROID MAXX wasn’t the strongest in class in terms of specs, we see the MAXX II being able to contend with the most powerful smartphones of 2015.

Then there’s the Moto Surround, which might not even be a phone. A pair of Bluetooth headphones or a speaker box, perhaps? That’d be our best guess, especially since it’s been quite a while since Motorola introduced new audio products (unless you’re counting the refreshed Moto Hint).

Unfortunately this was the tease of all teases, so there’s no other information to help us determine Motorola’s future plans. It’s unlikely we’ll see all of these turn up at Motorola’s already-crowded event tomorrow, but we’ll be paying close attention just in case.
