Sony schedules September 2nd event at IFA, new Xperia flagship in tow?

Sony got their mid-range announcements out of the way this morning, but it seems they were holding back on other happenings. The company has just confirmed that they will be holding a September 2nd event in Berlin. This falls in line with IFA, their usual launchpad for their biggest smartphone flagships.

Unfortunately it’s not yet clear what to expect. The company recently launched the Xperia Z4, though it was a very incremental step from the Z3 — so much so that they decided to market it as the Xperia Z3+ in certain territories. Will we get a proper sequel with an Xperia Z5? A new smart watch? Maybe an updated Xperia Z Tablet? That’s what we’ll have to wait another month to find out as their invitation was littered with devices of all kinds.
