If you’re an AT&T U-Verse or DirecTV customer and for some reason have yet to get your wireless service through AT&T, the company is putting on a deal that could put a ton of money back into your pockets. They’re offering up to $500 per line in varied credit for your business.
The deal is that they’ll first give you a $300 bill credit per line no matter what, which is already ridiculous. These sorts of deals usually only net between $100 and $150 in bill credit per line. Secondly, if you trade in good working smartphone you’ll get either a $200 bill credit or a $200 “promotion card” (which we imagine is little more than a prepaid Visa).
Both credits will be received within 90 days of activating service, and from what AT&T’s press release says it can stack as many times as you have lines. So yes, 4 lines = $2,000 back. Insane. Oh, and you’ll also get 10,000 Plenti points (rewards points) for use at participating merchants, and you’ll get $10 off each bill if you combine your wireless and TV charges into the same bill.
This is a very aggressive move by AT&T who no doubt plans to leverage their buyout of DirecTV by enticing their customers to go all in with both TV and wireless service. I must be honest: if I were in position to take advantage, I’d probably consider it too good to pass up (and it doesn’t hurt that AT&T is actually a pretty good carrier, either). Let us know if you’ll be looking to switch over because of it.
