Samsung has announced their two new phablets: the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. When Samsung first created the Note line the term “phablet” didn’t even exist, but now it’s one of the most popular phone sizes out there. Nearly every major manufacturer has a phablet in their lineup, including Apple.
As per usual, when a new device is announced we compare it to other like models. In the case of Samsung’s new phablets we’ve chosen the iPhone 6 Plus and Nexus 6. This chart is based purely on specs, which don’t always tell the entire story, but it’s a good starting point. The iPhone is the clear loser in this spec race. It has the lowest resolution display, smallest cameras, lowest amount of RAM, and smallest battery.
The Nexus 6 puts up a better fight. It has the same screen rsolution and a bigger battery, but smaller cameras and less RAM. If you’re looking for a phablet the new Samsung devices look to be among the best you can buy. And if you need a stylus the Note 5 is the clear winner. Both new Samsung phones will be available to purchase next week on August 21st.
