There’s been some talk about what HTC could be planning for their Sept 29th event. It certainly sounds like a big deal, with the invite showing Mt. Fuji and the Himalayas meeting in the middle of a big roman numeral “2.” It was a little cryptic, but Android dev and tipster @LlabTooFeR appears to have the inside scoop.
According to him, HTC could be planning to unveil the HTC Butterfly 3 for the local Chinese market, as well as an updated version of the HTC One M9 Plus. He didn’t reveal specs for either of the devices, but we’re sure to learn more in the coming days.
We should note that it’s extremely unlikely that HTC would announce availability of these new devices anywhere outside of Asian markets, at least not during this announcement. It also means that if you were expecting to learn more of the rumored HTC One A9 (Aero) or their upcoming smartwatch codenamed Halfbeak, don’t get your hopes up. We’re sure HTC will schedule a separate event/announcement date for these big global devices as they’re not exclusive to Asian markets.
