Google unveils the Pixel C, an Android tablet with a keyboard that never dies
The rumors were true. Google has just announced the Pixel C tablet. This device is strange for a couple of reasons. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but was not given the “Nexus” name. Instead, Google gave it a name that was previously reserved for Chromebooks. The “C” in Pixel C stands for “convertible,” but it’s odd that the first non-ChromeOS Pixel is called the Pixel C.
Naming aside, the Pixel C has a 10.2-inch display, Nvidia Tegra X1 processor, and 3GB of RAM. Google also showed off an optional keyboard cover, similar to the Microsoft Surface and iPad Pro. It’s a full-szie keyboard that connect to the back of the device. The best thing is it never needs to be charged. Simply closing the keyboard allows it to be inductively charged by tablet itself. As long as you keep the tablet charged you’ll never have to worry about the keyboard.
The Pixel C starts at $499, while the keyboard cover will costs an extra $149. Google did not give a specific release date, but it should be available in time for the holidays. Will you consider picking up a Pixel C?
