Adobe Lightroom for Android is now completely free to use, Creative Cloud account no longer required

It’s only been a good 2 months since Adobe announced an update for Lightroom that, along with new tools and features, removed the requirement to have a paid membership to Adobe’s Creative Cloud. Back then, the requirement was only lifted for iOS devices, but Adobe promised that soon Android users would be able to get in on the fun.

After all that time, it appears today is finally the day. Joining some already pretty stellar free photo edition apps on Android is, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom — now completely free to use on the Android device of your choice. Of course, if you don’t have an actual Creative Cloud account, you wont get access to some important features like the ability to sync photos and edits across multiple devices and platforms like your desktop. We have a feeling not too many of you are that serious about photo editing anyway. Here are some of the new features that arrived in Lightroom 1.3, with the latest — 1.4 — now available on Google Play.
