The Zenfone Max has one of the biggest batteries we’ve ever seen in a smartphone. All that battery makes for a hefty device, but it’s surprisingly thin. Just think of it like a permanent battery case. The Zenfone Max also has a 13MP camera with laser focus, 720p display, 2Gb of RAM, and the Snapdragon 410 processor.

The Ascend Mate 8 is huge, both in physical size and battery capacity. It has a gigantic 6-inch 1080p display to go along with the 4000 mAh battery. The display is super bright and gorgeous, and the battery life is exceptional. Huawei also includes a fingerprint scanner on the back and a pretty decent 13MP camera, plus it comes with Android Marshmallow.

Motorola set out to create a phone with an unbreakable display. Somehow, they were able to succeed. The DROID Turbo 2 is great for many reasons, but the nearly invincible display is the most amazing. It can take almost anything your throw at it and come out without a scratch. The great battery life and good camera make the phone even better.

A good mid-range phone isn’t hard to find these days. The Motorola DROID Maxx 2 is one of the better devices you can get for under $400. It offers stellar battery life, multiple colors to choose from, and a very solid camera. You’re not going to get the best performance, but at this price the Maxx 2 is hard to pass on.

The Nexus 6P is Huawei’s first attempt at a Nexus device, and they knocked it out of the park. This is the first time a Nexus can truly claim the title of best Android phone. It has an excellent camera, beautiful, big display, and a charming design. If you don’t mind big phones, this is the one to get.

The “Max” in HTC One Max is more for the giant 5.9-inch display, but it could also be used to describe battery life. The One Max is a lot like the aforementioned Huawei Ascend Mate 7. It has a big, bright, 1080p display, and a fingerprint scanner on the back. The One Max, however, has a very different 4 “UltraPixel” camera. You don’t get the same level of detail as other cameras, but it performs great in low-light.

The OnePlus 2 was billed as the “flagship killer,” but it didn’t live up to the hype. OnePlus left out a few important things in order to hit a cheap price point. The good news is that the features they did include are very good. It has a powerful Snapdragon 810, 4GB of RAM, a nice camera, and great battery life. What you won’t get is NFC, which nearly every other Android phone has.

You might be wondering “why is the Note 4 on the list and not the Samsung Galaxy Note 5?” In a move that angered a lot of fans, Samsung actually decreased the battery size from the Note 4 to Note 5. If you want a Note with great battery life, the Note 4 is still the better choice. You’ll also get a beautiful display, excellent camera, and the handy S Pen features.

Xiaomi phones often get overlooked here in the US. That’s a shame because Xiaomi makes some of the nicest Android phones you can find. The Mi 4c is a beautifully designed phone with equally as beautiful software. Xiaomi throws in some features that you don’t find in a lot of phones, such as IR blaster, USB Type-C, and fast charging.

Taken individually, features like the camera, display, and design of the G4 are quite impressive, if not tops among it smartphone peers. As a package, however, there still seems to be something missing from the overall presentation. For a phone that is not marketed for its great battery life, the G4 is an underrated device.
