Samsung’s Music app hits the Google Play Store for Galaxy devices

If you’ve got a Galaxy device running Marshmallow, Samsung wants you to test a beta version of their music app — now on Google Play. The app, simply titled Samsung Music, is the familiar MP3/WMA/AAC/FLAC playing music app you’re probably used to, only now receiving regular updates via the Play Store. It’s pretty basic, with swipable tabs in the main interface to switch between playlists, tracks, albums, artists, genre, and other views (the tabs can be customized in the app’s settings). Other settings in include auto-off and playback speed, and music volume leveling.

As of now, it’s only compatible with Samsung Galaxy devices running Android 6.0 Marshmallow or higher and apparently supports various other “Samsung smart devices” like their tablets, TVs, and wearables. It’s free and certainly looks pretty enough, but don’t forget that this is in beta, so bugs are expected. If you’re looking to give it a spin on your new Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge, we’ve provided a download link for you below.
