The two most anticipated VR devices since forever – the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive – are on the brink of launching. With Oculus shipments about to deliver, HTC felt compelled to remind pre-orderers that they should be expecting packages in the near future too, while giving us a sneak peak at what comes in the box.
Here is the list of components found in the HTC Vive Box:
- A – Base station x 2
- B – Sync cable
- C – Base station power adapter x2
- D – Mounting kit
- E – Link box
- F – Link box mounting pad
- G – Link box power adapter
- H – HDMI cable
- I – USB cable
- J – Earbuds
- K – Alternate face cushion (narrow)
- L – Cleaning cloth
- M – Documentation
- N – Headset with 3-in-1 cable and audio cable
- O – Controller (with lanyard) x 2
- P – Micro USB charger x 2
We’re used to quickly discarding the “manual” in favor of diving directly into the gadgets we purchase, but something tells us that letter “M” – the documentation – is going to be especially important for the HTC Vive.
The inevitable upcoming flurry of HTC Vive unboxings just got a lot less suspenseful, but we’re no less excited for that package to land on our doorstep.
When will it ship? Although HTC’s e-mail claims “it’s in the works” and states, “Your order’s being processed now,” the actual order confirmation page still says that shipments will start going out in May 2016.
