With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge now behind us, we’re looking ahead to “Next Big Thing” from Samsung. Some consider the Galaxy Note line Samsung’s real flagship smartphone, so we’re pretty excited to see what new tricks the manufacturer is planning for the Samsung Galaxy Note 6.
Rumors an reports have already been circulating around the web, with the latest pegging a 5.8-inch Quad HD display, 6GB RAM, Snapdragon 823 processor, iris scanner, USB Type-C, IP68 water resistance, 4,200mAh battery, and possibly a curved Edge display. That’s a whole lotta phone, arguably overkill and something that is sure to drive up the price of the phone when it launches later this year. We suppose that’s why this latest rumor makes a bit of sense.
According to a recent Weibo post, Samsung will also be launching a slightly more toned down version of the Galaxy Note 6. Before you freak out, this Galaxy Note 6 “Lite” will be far from handicapped. The rumor says the Lite version would use the regular Snapdragon 820 processor, have slightly less RAM at 4GB, and feature a lower resolution 1080p SAMOLED display. Honestly, none of that sounds bad, especially for casual smartphone users who don’t need the best-of-the-best.
With a still powerful S820 and full HD display, performance of this “Lite” model could actually be higher than that of the regular Note 6. As with most rumors, take it with a grain of salt and we’ll let you know if we hear anything else.
But seriously — would any of you opt for this less-expensive Note 6 if the above these are the only specs Samsung skimps out on?
