The honor V8 has officially been unveiled. While the basic model sports a 5.7-inch 1080p display and a Kirin 950 processor, there is a more expensive version which features a 5.7-inch QHD display and Kirin 955 processor. Other specifications shared between the two models include 4GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage, microSD card slot (up to 128GB), fingerprint and infrared sensors, 8-megapixel front-facing camera and a 3,500 mAh battery. The honor V8 also comes equipped with a 12-megapixel dual-camera on the back – the exact configuration as what Huawei used on the P9. Like the Huawei P9, the honor V8 also comes with quick charging and USB Type-C.
While the honor 5X was an incredible budget-friendly device, the honor v8’s specifications and price point move the phone up into the mid-range segment. The base honor v8 model with the 1080p display and Kirin 950 processor will sell for 2299 yuan ($352 USD). If you’re in the market for something a little more powerful, you can spend 2799 yuan (U$430 USD) on the honor v8 with a QHD display and a Kirin 955 SoC.
Honor will be making the V8 available in Ceramic White, Platinum Silver, Rose Gold, Champagne Gold, Ice Silver and Gray Colors starting on May 17th. For now, the device will only be selling in China, but honor will likely release the V8 in Europe, the US and other Asian markets over the next few months.
