Samsung is continuing its push to get the Gear VR into as many homes as possible. David Lowes, Chief Marketing Officer at Samsung, touched on the growing importance of VR:
“Our Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are performing extremely well, demonstrating continued strong demand for our premium flagship devices. The smartphone is already so fundamental to our lives but connecting it with a product like the Gear VR opens up incredible new experiences that are often as emotional as they are immersive. With this new incentive, we’re encouraging broader VR adoption so that more people can experience this amazing new technology for themselves.”
The latest push comes to Europe where Samsung is offering a discounted bundle for those who have purchased either the Samsung Galaxy S7, or Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
The bundle will feature “exclusive premium games and experiences” that users can download from the Oculus Store on their Samsung devices. Some of the games and content that will be included are some of the Oculus Store’s most popular:
- Anshar Wars 2
- Darknet
- Drift
- Keep Talking and Nobody explodes
- Ocean Rift
- Starchart
There has been no word as to how much the bundle will cost, when the bundle will be available, or how long the promotion will run for. Those who are eligible for the bundle will be able to purchase it through Samsung’s online store and selected retail and carrier partners.
