There’s a new Note in town, and it’s not the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Just one day before Samsung’s big Note event, Huawei has announced the Honor Note 8. The strange thing about the name is Huawei doesn’t really have a “Note” series. Naming aside, this is a big, bold device with some impressive specs and a low price tag.
The Honor Note 8 has a gigantic 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD resolution. It weighs 219 grams, which is a bit heavy. The Honor Note 8 is also packing a juicy 4,500 mAh battery, 13MP camera, 4GB of RAM, Kirin 955 processor, 128GB of storage, USB Type-C, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Impressive specs for any flagship in 2016, but this phone is not priced like a flagship.
This phone will be available in China later this month for 2,300 Yuan ($345). That’s a very nice price for something this powerful. Unfortunately, it’s way too big for most people, and it will likely never be available outside of China. Oh well.
