HTC seems to be under some fire after the company announced its schedule for updating the HTC 10, One M9 and One A9 with Android 7.0 Nougat. When the HTC One A9 was released, HTC released a bold statement by claiming the device would receive the latest version of Android within 15 days of Nexus devices.
Now it seems that HTC is back-tracking on that, by stating the HTC One A9 will receive the Android Nougat update after the HTC 10. For some context, HTC is planning on pushing the Android Nougat update for the HTC 10 in Q4 2016, with the A9 and M9 receiving the update sometime after that.
So you dropped the 15 days update police on #HTCOneA9 less than a year after you announced it.

Usually, OEM’s are expected to release the latest Android software update within 90 days, but even then it can be months before a device is updated. For HTC to make this statement back when the One A9 was released, and then to renege on the promise with the first major update, is not a good look.
HTC has yet to make an official comment in regards to this, but those who purchased the One A9 when it was released may start looking elsewhere for a new device. HTC has seemingly started turning a few heads again after the release of the HTC 10, and after it was confirmed that it would be manufacturing the 2016 Nexus devices, but this will definitely leave customers with a sour taste in their mouth.
