Way back in May, Motorola/Lenovo took the wraps off its newest budget devices, the Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, and Moto G4 Play. The device resembled what we have come to expect from the previous Moto G devices that were released. However, Motorola did not make the device readily available, instead stating it would be available “mid-summer”.
Well, “mid-summer” has turned into early September as the device has appeared for pre-order on both Amazon and Motorola’s website. Furthermore, the device has entered Amazon’s “Prime-exclusive” lineup, which already includes the Moto G4 ($149.99) and Blu R1 HD ($49.99). What makes these special is that you can save $50 off the retail price by opting into lockscreen offers and ads.
Moto G Play Specs:
- 5.0-inch HD display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB storage expandable to 128GB via microSD
- 5MP front-facing camera
- 8MP rear-facing camera
- 2800mAh battery
- Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
The Moto G4 Play has entered this lineup starting at just $99.99 and features a spec sheet that is perfect for someone who wants a decent smartphone without paying an arm and a leg. The G4 Play can also be purchased without ads and is priced at $149.99, which is still one helluva deal.
Pre-orders for the Moto G4 Play start today, with the device shipping on September 16th. However, if you want to save the $50, you must be an Amazon Prime subscriber, so if you aren’t already signed up, now seems to be a great time to jump onboard.
