Google and Udacity have announced a new partnership that will help you become a Virtual Reality developer. In case you weren’t aware, Udacity helps provide degrees in software and development through its various “Nanodegree” programs.
In addition to working with Google VR, Udacity has also partnered with HTC’s Vive program and UploadVR who is an industry leader in Virtual Reality news. This new Nanodegree will take you through everything you need to know about developing for VR, provided you have the correct equipment and meet the prerequisites.
As a student of this program, you’ll master the core principles and foundations of virtual reality, develop and refine a keen sense for great VR design, and build performant and comfortable VR experiences as you become familiar with the most important SDKs and APIs of the major platforms, including PC and Mobile.
The Nanodegree program will be released at a later time but you can sign up to be notified as to when it will be opening via the Udacity link below. Oh, and for those wondering about how much it will cost? The VR Developer Nanodegree program will be priced at $199 per month.
This partnership makes a lot of sense as we get closer to the release of Google’s Daydream Viewer, as it wouldn’t be good if Google couldn’t get developers on board.
