We’ve been hearing rumors about Nokia releasing a new flagship smartphone for quite some time. The rumors began back in May after a Finnish company acquired the brand and announced intentions to manufacture Android smartphones.
After the acquisition was completed, new rumors began to swirl suggesting that there would be at least two flagship smartphones announced under the Nokia brand in 2016. These devices would include the Snapdragon 820 processor, but a new rumor gives a little bit more information as to what will be under the hood.
The leak shows that the device will feature either a 5.2-inch or 5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 820 processor, and Carl Zeiss camera modules. The device will also be waterproof with an IP67 certification. Finally, the leak shows that this new device will be unveiled around the time of Mobile World Congress 2017.
It’s a bit odd that the new Nokia smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 820 when we have already seen a few devices released with the new Snapdragon 821. Let us know if you are looking forward to seeing a new Android smartphone under the Nokia brand.
