Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen more and more leaks of the Xiaomi Mi 6. These leaks quieted down a bit once Xiaomi confirmed the device was incoming, and the company took to the stage at an event in China to unveil its latest flagship.
The Mi 6 seems to improve upon many of the hardware features of its predecessor while providing a true flagship experience. Starting off with the specs, Xiaomi kept a 5.15-inch 1080p display, along with a fingerprint scanner on the front.
Powering the Mi 6, Xiaomi packed in the Snapdragon 835 processor, along with 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage. This marks the 4th smartphone to take advantage of Qualcomm’s latest processor, following the Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, and Sony Xperia XZ Premium.
As for the camera, Xiaomi has moved into the world of dual-lens setups as the Mi 6 includes two 12MP rear-facing cameras. One of which provides a wide angle shot, while the other offers a telephoto lens, similar to that of the iPhone 7 Plus.
Additionally, Xiaomi has packed a 3,350mAh battery into the Mi 6, which should be more than enough to keep you rolling throughout the day. The Mi 6 will launch on April 28th with prices starting at $360 for the 6GB/64GB variant, with the 6GB/128GB variant priced at $420.
Finally, there is an exclusive ceramic variant which features a ceramic back and 18K gold rims around the cameras. If interested, this variant will be available for $435, but it’s unlikely that we’ll see the Mi 6 arrive here in the States anytime soon.
