If you’re reading this, then there’s a pretty good chance you’re already aware of Huawei and how the company has expanded over the last few years. However, the company may be quite a bit larger than you would expect as the company revealed its Q1 2017 results.
The Huawei P10
In a conference call, Huawei revealed it shipped 34.5 million smartphones in Q1, pushing it up the ranks to the #3 largest OEM in the world. Compared to the same time in Q1 2016, Huawei is seeing almost a 22% increase in global shipments of its various smartphones.
Huawei is growing so rapidly that the company has started nipping at the heels of Apple and Samsung, who are currently #1 and #2 in worldwide shipments. Huawei’s growth also gives it some space from the likes of Oppo, Vivo, and others.
However, considering that the year is just getting underway, we are expecting more big things from Huawei. This includes seeing the continued performance of its 2017 flagships, the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus.
It would be amazing to see Huawei make a bigger impression on the US market, as the company recently launched devices here in the States. However, not being available through traditional means (carriers), may prevent the company from truly taking advantage of the US market.
