Amazon today announced a refresh for their Fire Tablets. We’re getting new models of the 7-inch Fire model, the Fire HD 8, as well as the Fire Kids and Fire Kids HD 8.
The improvements are moderate, but welcome for this sort of yearly refresh. We get improved battery life and slightly faster internals, as well as slightly thinner and lighter construction. The kid-focused models also come with playful protective cases and a year of FreeTime Unlimited.
The Fire will run you $49.99 and the the Fire HD 8 comes in at $79.99. The Kids’ versions are going for $99.99 and $129.99, respectively, with the beefier price tags likely in place for the case and FreeTime access.
Oh, and for those who want to pass the Fire Tablet around as gifts, Amazon is letting them go in packs of 3 for just $128. That’s a 20% discount, bringing the total savings to $29.99. Just use promo code FIRE3PACK at checkout and you’re all set. The tablets ship June 7th.
