Over the last month or so, we have been learning more and more information regarding the upcoming Moto Z2 Play. This all began with a leak of a press render and has expanded into Lenovo confirming the device will lose its best feature – battery life.
Thanks to the benchmarking results from GFXBench, we have a better look at what will be powering the Moto Z2 Play, and the results aren’t all that surprising. Considering the fact that the Z Play was designed for those on a budget, the Z2 Play includes a spec-sheet which lines up with that train of thought.
The results from GFXBench show us that the device will feature a 5.5-inch FHD display, while being powered by the Snapdragon 626 and 4GB of RAM. Additionally, the Z2 Play will feature 64GB of expandable storage and will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
As for that battery? The results show a 3,000mAh battery, which is quite a bit smaller than the 3,510mAh option found in the device’s predecessor. This may be disappointing for some, but maybe Motorola and Lenovo believe that the SD626 SoC is so power efficient that we will continue to see excellent battery life with the Z2 Play.
We still don’t exactly know when the Z2 Play will be unveiled, but all of these leaks has me wondering where in the world is the flagship Moto Z2 hiding at. Let us know what you think about these results in the comments below and if you’ll be looking to pick one up once it’s made available.
