While ASUS has already “announced” the ZenFone AR at CES, we hadn’t gotten a whole lot of information about it. We know it’ll be a much smaller phone than the first Tango phone, the Lenovo Phab2 Pro.
Since then, we’ve learned that The ASUS ZenFone AR will sport a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 6GB or 8GB RAM, and a 23 MP camera. It also features a unique vapor cooling system to stave off the heat that can be produced from the increased chipset performance needed for VR and AR experiences.
Anyway, what we really want to know is when we can actually grab one of these things. After 6 long months, we may soon have an answer, with ASUS holding a June 14th launch in Taiwan.
We’re not sure what we’re set to learn at this event. Our obvious hope is that some sort of release date will be on hand, but even if they do announce one it may be specific to the Taiwanese market. Either way, we’ll let you know. Be sure to check out our ZenFone AR hands-on in the meantime if you aren’t already familiar with this thing.
