It was earlier today that Fitbit unveiled their first real smartwatch, the Fitbit Ionic. It’s chock full of hardware/software features (and an equally high price to tag to match) but the biggest thing holding the watch back was its god-awful design. It’s nowhere near fashionable thanks to a big, clunky design that looks more masculine than anything.
If the Apple Watch wasn’t already competition enough, Fitbit is about to face some pretty stiff competition, from Garmin no less who’s upcoming smartwatch is already looking leaps and bounds better than the Ionic. With a more traditional timepiece look, the Garmin Vivomove HR has been leaked in a pair of press renders showing off the wearable from the front and back.
There’s still no details on the exact hardware/fitness features, but the watch is said to be announced at IFA 2017 alongside the Vivoactive 3, a fitness centered smartwatch that could retail for around $250. It’s looking like the Vivomove HR could cost a little higher than that, but we’ll have to wait and see exactly how much once they’re both made official later this week.
