Last week, Xiaomi started sending out press invitations for its unveiling of the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus. Ahead of the event, Donovan Sung, Executive for Xiaomi, shared a few official press renders of the devices.

From the renders, we can the lineup will have an 18:9 aspect ratio, along with at least three different color options, and a single camera sensor on the rear. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner which is placed just below the camera sensor and the flash.
Unfortunately, we still don’t have any official mention of the specs for either device. However, previous leaks have shown that we’ll see the Snapdragon 625 SoC, 3GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of storage for the Redmi 5. The Redmi 5 Plus will be powered the Snapdragon 630 SoC and 64GB of expandable storage.
Pricing for the Xiaomi Redmi 5 is expected to start at around $126, while the high-end will be priced around $162. We don’t know what to expect for pricing for the Redmi 5 Plus, other than that it will be priced north of $200.
